'We have never before (wrote the editor) published an original poem by a reader in this space, but today is different. It is the anniversary of the Twin Towers atrocity in New York in 2001 and Sandra Saer of Watersfield, West Sussex, has sent us a verse truly written from the heart. In her own words: "It reflects the misery and loss felt on both sides of the Atlantic and, indeed, much further afield, but also the deep, universal need to look forward with hope, however difficult that may be."

We are delighted that REDBREAST: The Robin in Life and Literature, by Andrew Lack, is selling so well. This is in large part due to the copious and enthusiastic media coverage, and the thus stimulated customer interest and enjoyment.
